LYNN PULL OFF SHOCK VICTORY
Lynn travelled to second place Brantham with just 10 players and pulled off a superb victory in their final game of the season.
In very difficult conditions Lynn contained Brantham for the opening 20 minutes, the back four in particular held their own against a powerful Brantham forward line. Lisa Wilson made a positive surge forward down the right wing and won Lynn a corner, which was taken short to Shelley Woods who picked out Leanne Sheen on the edge on the box who hit a first time shot that deceived the keeper and went in off the inside of the post to give Lynn an unlikely lead. Lynn battled against the wind for the remainder of the half and when it looked like Lynn would be going in at half time with the lead, Brantham scored right on half time. Brantham broke with numbers and caught Lynn who had pushed forward, the ball was squared to the penalty spot where the Brantham forward controlled and tried to place her shot in the corner but Karen Wilson pulled off a fine save but the rebound fell to the on coming midfielder who hit a low shot into the bottom right corner which Wilson got a hand to but unluckily couldn't keep it out.
Lynn found themselves behind 5 mins into the second half after the Brantham forward found time and space within the box to hit a low shot across Wilson which found the bottom corner. Lynn keep their heads and battled back and got their rewards after Woods scored one of the goals of season. With the ball bouncing about on the half way line on the left Woods dummied a header against the midfielder sending her down the left wing, she then beat two more players with her mazy running before cutting inside the centre half and hit a powerful shot that flew into the back of the net from 16 yards. With 20mins remaining Lynn found themselves down to 9 players after Kirsty Scott picked up an ankle injury. Lynn really had their work cut out now and worked heroics in getting numbers behind the ball and limiting Brantham to long shots that Wilson was equal too. With 15mins remaining Woods won a free-kick 25 yards out, up stepped Sheen to smashed an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner. Lynn then sat back and soaked up a blitz at the Lynn goal as Brantham searched for an equaliser but it was Lynn's day and the players fully deserved victory for a remarkable team effort.
Well done to all on what was such a pleasing win!

LACK OF PLAYERS COST LYNN
A makeshift Lynn ladies side consisting of 9 players struggled against a up and coming Mulbarton side.
Lynn playing against the wind first half worked hard but with the lack of numbers and players having to play out of position the going was always going to be very tough. Mulbarton took the lead on 15mins when good work down the right from the winger resulted in the forward poking home from 12 yards out. Mulbarton soon doubled they lead after a lot of pressure within the Lynn half. Lynn did have a couple of chances both falling to Shelley Woods but on both occasions the Mulbarton keeper pulled off good saves. Mulbarton made it three just before half time to put the game beyond Lynn.
A spirited second half performance frustrated Mulbarton to limited chances and late on Lynn picked up a consolation goal through Shelley Woods after a mazy run through she finished coolly for her 19th league goal of the season.
Well done to 9 for giving there all in difficult circumstance's.

COMFORTABLE VICTORY
This game was all over within the first 10 minutes as Shelley Woods grabbed a quick fire hat-trick.
Lynn started off at a good tempo and Woods quickly gave Lynn the lead when she broke down the right, in on goal she made no mistake. She soon doubled Lynn's lead when she got onto the shoulder of the last defender and out muscled the defender and then the keeper to poke home. Woods again got in behind the Lakenheath back four after a flick on from Kirsty Scott and finished coolly. The game then turned very scrappy and Lakenheath got themselves back into the game through this and pulled one back when a free kick missed everyone and ended up in the back of the net. Lynn youngster Kirsty Scott then got onto the score sheet when she finished brilliantly across the goalkeeper capping off an very good performance from her.
In the second half Lynn limited Lakenheath to very few chances and once again got on top and started to use the width of the pitch to get in behind with the pace of Scott and Woods causing lots of problems. Lynn where awarded a free kick wide on the left and Leanne Sheen crossed a super ball in which Woods headed home. Lynn missed numerous other chances before Woods completed the scoring with a comfortable side foot pass the keeper.
Lot better display this week but still much more to come from a talented bunch of players. See you all after Xmas ready for the hard work im goin to put you through in the new year.

MISTAKES PROVE COSTLY
Due to the lack of players Lynn had to move the team around to accommodate but still put in a good performance but mistakes due to the reshuffle cost Lynn.
Chelmsford started off the brighter of the two teams and showed good pace down the wings and caused Lynn some early problems. Lynn slowly got themselves into the game but fell behind after 15mins when the back four fell asleep and allowed the Chelmsford forward and easy path to goal and scored at the near post. The goal seemed to push Lynn on and they finished the half the stronger of the two teams. Bee raced through on goal and nipped the ball past the keeper but it rolled inches past the post. Shelley (leggings) Woods then started to dominate the midfield and after a one two with Bee, she saw her shot just miss the out-side of the post when it looked liked she had scored. Two more chances saw Woods make the Chelmsford keeper pull off a good save and Woods then also hit the outside of the post. A corner late in the half saw a scramble in the area but again Lynn couldn't get the break they where looking for.
Lynn fell away in the second half on what was a very heavy pitch and soon found themselves two down after another defensive mistake gave Chelmsford an easy tap in. With the Lynn midfield starting to get stretched it left the back four under a lot pressure. Midway into the half Lynn got a life line when Woods hit a superb 25 yard free kick into the top corner but Lynn never really pressed on and got caught 5mins later with an effort that went high into the net. Lynn soon found themselves 4-1 down when the defence pushed out on a free kick but found that the midfield (Woods) had stayed in playing everyone on side and the Chelmsford forward finished with a cracking shot into the top corner off the inside of the post.
Overall Chelmsford deserved victory but Lynn sloppy play cost them in a game when if the basics where done better Lynn could quite easily have got an away point.

LYNN EDGED OUT
Hethersett completed the double of Lynn with a well-organised display. Hethersett have gelled together as a team this year and are the best team Lynn have come up against in the division. Lynn will be aiming for the same balance for themselves next season after a disrupted year.
The game had extra spice as former player Nicola Bray was appearing for the first time back at Lynn (with the Lynn back four always going to make her feel welcome!). The first half was very scrappy and the passing of both teams was very poor and the only way a goal looked likely was from a mistake. And on 20mins the mistake came when a mix up at the back cost Lynn the opening goal off the game. Lynn’s only real effort came from a free kick that went straight at the keeper from Shelley Woods.
The second half produced a more open game as Lynn began to wear out from all they hard work they had done in the first half. The games turning point came 10mins into the half when Amy Marsh hit a shot from 25 yards that had the keeper beat but her effort smashed against the bar and Hethersett cleared. Minutes later Hethersett wrapped the game up with another messy goal from Lynn's point of view. Lynn failed to clear on a couple of occasions this then lead to Hethersett hitting the bar with a header and the attacker was quicker to react and put the rebound in. Lynn never recovered and lost they shape but to their credit never gave in and battled bravely to the end. Hethersett got they third after a good ball in from the left, the on coming player finished well on the half volley. With about 10mins to go Hethersett hit with a quick counter attack and smashed a shot home from the edge of the area to put the game beyond doubt.
4-0 flattered Hethersett as the difference between the two sides was not that great but with Lynn in a period of transition and Hethersett with a side that knows each other inside out and now with Nicola Bray amongst their ranks (who is the best striker in the division) the task for Lynn was always going to be a difficult one.
Lynn must now put all focus onto building for next season and the future.

INJURY TIME WINNER
Lynn started the game brightly and played some good football in the opening periods of the game.
Lynn fell behind with Barchester real first attack midway through the half. Lynn kept going and hit the bar from a Shelley Woods effort.
The second half saw Lynn get back on level terms when Woods raced through to score. Her initial shot was saved but the rebound fell into her path and she rolled the ball home. Lynn soon took the lead with a cracker from Woods, out on the left she turned inside and hit a 25 yard shot into the top corner. Lynn's third came from Amy Marsh who smashed a low shot past the keeper. Lynn's concentration slipped and let Barchester back in the game when Kerrie Stevens and Karen Wilson got mixed up and let in the striker for a easy tap in. Lynn's back four then got caught square and the striker raced onto the ball and rounded Wilson to equalise. With the game deep into injury time Lynn snatched the winner. Woods again picked the ball up out on the left, she turned inside the defender and hit another powerful shot which flew into the roof of the net completing her hat-trick and giving Lynn the three points.

DEBUT GOAL FOR LYNN YOUNGSTER
In a very tight affair Lynn Ladies better finishing decided the game.
Lynn with only 10 players for this game started well and battled for every ball. Lynn took the lead on 20mins when Shelley Woods burst through her shot was well saved but Lynn kept the move alive and the ball found its way back to Woods who slotted home from the edge of the area. Minutes later Woods went through again and finished across the keeper but the goal was disallowed for a tight off-side decision. On 35mins debut girl Kirsty Scott raced onto a ball from the right and got to the ball just before the keeper and poked home from a tight angle.
Lynn conceded earlier in the second half after being caught out of position this gave Brentwood confidence and Lynn where very much on the back foot for most of the second half. Lynn stood strong in defence with every player battling and the high energy running of Sonya Smith meant Brentwood found it hard to create any real clear cut chances. On 80mins Lynn conceded a penalty after Woods had handballed in the area but stand in keeper Leanne Sheen guessed right and saved the spot kick. Minutes later Lynn wrapped the game up with Woods poking past the on coming keeper to grab her second of the match.

LYNN CRASH TO DEFEAT AGAINST BOTTOM SIDE
A well organised Lakenheath team got their first win of the season against Lynn who once again struggled to make a team up going into the match with just nine players.
The first half was a very scrappy affair with neither side playing any sort of passing football. With Captain Shelley Woods picking up a injury early in the game it meant she had to go in goal and it disrupted the balance of the side. Lynn fell behind midway through the half after a scramble in the area, the Lakenheath forward sent a low shot into the corner. Lynn did get themselves back on level terms after a poor first half when Kerrie Stevens burst through to flick the ball over the on-coming keeper and side foot the ball home into the empty net.
Lynn played much better in the second half and was on top for most of the half but just couldn't find a finish to their good play. A minute from time Lakenheath snatched the winner from a free kick that went in high over the keeper. The pressure is on Lynn now to find new players to bring into the club as the club can not keep playing with 9 players.

CLOSE ENCOUNTER
In a very close match Lynn where slightly unlucky not to grab a winner in a solid second half performance.
Chelmsford started the better and caused Lynn problems with the pace of their forward line. Lynn went behind after a defensive mistake that let the Chelmsford forward in on goal which she finished coolly. Midway into the half Lynn got themselves level when Lisa Wilson found space on the right wing, the Chelmsford keeper came rushing out but Wilson squared the ball which Nicola Bray tapped into the open net. Lynn's defence got caught square once again and a ball over the top was latched onto by the Chelmsford forward which she lobbed over the Lynn keeper to get her second of the match. Lynn grabbed their equaliser just before half time when Kerrie Stevens broke the off side trap leaving her one on one with the keeper she powered the ball home for her first of the season.
The second half Lynn dominated but where limited to chances. Sonya Smith came close but could only fire at the keeper after excellent work from Stevens. Shelley Woods also had a shot from distance well saved. And with the Lynn back four playing much better Chelmsford only had half chances in the second half.
In what was a hard fought game both teams will be pleased with the point.

LYNN LOSE THRILLER
In a game that had everything, Lynn lost the game in a poor 15min period in the first half.
Lynn took the the lead thanks to Nicola Bray after a bit of a scramble in the box she poked home to give Lynn a early advantage. Then 20mins in Faye Short was sent off for foul and abusive language. The next 15mins was where Lynn lost the game conceding four goals in that period. Then a missed penalty from Bray left Lynn a little flat and it didn't look like it was going to be their day. But just before half time Shelley Woods raced onto a ball and rounded the keeper to pull one back.
The second half was a committed performance from Lynn and they controlled large periods and did themselves proud by getting themselves all square.
Nicola Bray rounded the keeper and tapped home to put Lynn one behind. Then another missed penalty this time from Woods still left Lynn looking for the equaliser. Midway into the second half Lynn got penalty number three and this time Woods made no mistake with putting the ball into the bottom corner. But unlucky Lynn got caught on the counter attack when they where looking for a winner and found no way back this time. Brantham also had a player sent off late in the game for bad language.

BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Lynn with only 10 players for this game started strongly with Nicola Bray's running and Shelley Woods passing causing lots of problems. Lynn took a early lead with Bray firing home from a Woods through ball. Lynn had numerous chances to extend their but Mulbarton rode their luck and it took Lynn until 5mins before half time to score again with Woods unleashing a shot from distance that went in low pasted the keeper. A minute later Leanne Sheen scored a cracking free kick that went across the keeper into the corner. Mulbarton went straight up the other end to win a free kick for themselves that they put into the top corner giving Karen Wilson no chance.
Lynn scored quickly into the second half with a ball through that Bray nipped onto to just beat the on coming keeper and flicked the ball home. Another Sheen free kick from 35 yards was misjudged by the keeper and went in over her head. Woods got her double with a smart finish in side the box. Sheen then saw red after a second booking to put Lynn down to 9 players with still 25 minutes to play but Lynn's quality and solid back four saw them home and towards the end of the game Bray got her hat-trick after a long throw into the box that Bray latched onto and put the ball into the roof of the net.

HETHERSETT CRUISE TO VICTORY
A well organised and fit Hethersett side dominated the first half. The midfield of Hethersett showed a lot of energy and they movement on and off the ball was excellent and caused Lynn all sort of problems. Hethersett took the lead after the Lynn back four couldn't clear the ball and the loose ball was hit in at the near post. Hethersett quickly added two more one a cracking long range effort that went in the top corner.
Lynn to they credit battled for the whole of the second half and never gave up in a game where if they had they could have got hit for a big score. Lynn where dead on they feet but continued to try and put one or two nice moves together and where unlucky not to get anything out of them. Goalkeeper Karen Wilson had a good second half pulling off three very good saves. Lack of fitness was one of the main reasons Hethersett controlled the game and the excellent man marking job done by they captain on Nicola Bray.

ARGUING LYNN THROW AWAY LEAD
Lynn started very slowly in this game and never really produced the football they did the week before. In a game where the referee was stealing the show with a poor performance, Lynn went behind after left back Michelle Stewart was fouled the game continued and the attacking player put the ball home at the near post. After more strange decisions, Lynn equalised through Nicola Bray with a high finish into the roof of the net. Bray then put Lynn ahead after the keeper parried her first shot she put the second attempt into the net. After a nasty over the ball challenge Lynn lost centre back Emma Woods through injury and with no card shown for the challenge Lynn lost they cool and the game turned into Barchester's favour.
Lynn caught Barchester on the break to increase they lead with Ali Weston squaring the ball to Shelley Woods for a easy tap in. With Lynn down to 10 the extra player was causing Lynn problems and Lynn soon found themselves all square. Lynn had lost complete concentration after more bad decision from the referee and Barchester won the game with a lucky smash down field that deceived Karen Wilson in the Lynn goal. Disappointing from Lynn in a game they should have easier won but lost through poor concentration and too much arguing with ref and other players.

LADIES OFF TO FLYER!!
In a brilliant display Lynn took total control against last years runners up Brentwood. Lynn's passing and movement was a class above and with a little bit better finishing the score could have been more.
Lynn playing against a strong wind first half started the game off brightly and created numerous chances but fell behind after Brentwood's first real attack. Lynn kept their heads and continued to play good passing football. Captain Shelley Woods got Lynn's equaliser. Woods then wasted two good chances before Lynn finally went ahead just before half time as Kirstie Smith scored at the back post after the keeper had parried.
The game was wrapped up 10mins into the second half when Woods raced through on goal and chipped the keeper to grab her second of the game. Nicola Bray made it 4-1 when she scored from a tight angle in off the post. Then a Woods corner was turned into the net by a Brentwood defender and sealed a great opening day result.
